If you are a Lawrence Humane Society super fan, you may have already heard about the entertainment we have planned for the weekend of October 9th in our Fur Ball Variety Show. In another blog, we previewed that we would have some adoption festivities to commemorate our 26th Fur Ball. Well, we are excited to announce the details of this adoption event- the Fur Ball Weekend Extravaganza!
Thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA and Subaru, we are able to offer $26 adoptions for any animal during our Fur Ball Weekend Extravaganza on October 10th and 11th! Since October is National Subaru Loves Pets month, Subaru and the ASPCA have sponsored this event to ensure plenty of pets can find forever homes during the Fur Ball Weekend Extravaganza.
During Fur Ball Weekend Extravaganza, you can sign up online to join the wait list just like normal but the adoption fee will only be $26 for any animal you could want. Adopt a dog, cat, rooster (yes, really). You name it!
And the adoption special is not all! While you’re looking for a new best friend, why not test their obedience skills?
For Saturday, October 10th only, we will offer a special opportunity for anyone to bring their leashed dog over to McCarthy Subaru to run the very same obstacle course from our Fur Ball Variety Show Doggy Fun Run for free! For each human-dog pair who go to McCarthy Subaru to take on our course, we will also provide special gift bags and a yummy snack for your pup.
This is a great opportunity to try something fun with your dog, newly-adopted or not! This promotion will be from 10-4 at McCarthy Subaru, so make sure to put it in your calendar.
We will have posted instructions on the day-of for where to park and all fun runners will have a special section of the lot to wait in their car until their turn, for social distancing purposes. Anyone is eligible to come, whether you just adopted or not.
