Is your dog athletic and agile? Here’s a great way for your pup to blow off steam and for you both to show off as a team! We put together a simple beginner-level obstacle course for you and your dog to run in the Lawrence Humane front lawn! Each run will be recorded and the best will be shown during the Fur Ball Live! 

 For the three fastest runners, we have some great prizes like a hand-drawn pet portrait by Cale Moore, a self-filtering pet water fountain, and packages from Pawsh Wash and Sunflower Canine.

We are taking full social distancing measures by offering appointment-based slots for you and your properly leashed or harnessed dog to run the course together safely. We will provide a long leash for your dog to run the course easily. All proceeds from this competition help benefit our lifesaving mission. Sign your dog up today!

Your pet is a star. You know it. We know it. Let’s make the world know it by seeing your funniest and cutest pet submissions to our six challenges.

The categories are:

• “Hidden Tailents” – Show us your best pet tricks! 
• “Come On In, The Water’s Fine” – Submit any pictures or videos that have a relation to water. Interpret the category however you see fit!
• “That Can’t Be Comfortable” – Ever look at your pet and think how uncomfortable that position must be?! 
• “When Parents are Away, Pets Will Play – What do your pets do when they think you aren’t looking? What funny things happen while you’re away from home? 
• “Melodic Mutts and Chorus Cats” – Let’s hear those howls, growls, and funny animal noises!
• Our personal favorite, “Dogglegangers and Copy Cats: A Look-Alike Competition.” For this look-alike contest, you can make your pets look like you, your favorite celebrity or anything else you can think of. Get creative and think outside the box!

If staying home sounds like the best option for you right now, no one ever said that had to be boring! Pop a bag of popcorn and snag a spot on the couch! Our event will be entertaining to watch in the comfort of your own home. Tune in on October 9th to see the show on Facebook Live or YouTube!

If you are totally over staying at home all the time, we completely get it. But we also know safety comes first during COVID times, so here’s our solution! Load up the car and watch the show “drive-in” style  via a large screen and an FM transmitter! Our friends at Theater Lawrence will be showing the Fur Ball show in their parking lot where you can watch from the safety of your car – purchase your ticket today!

Although we have a few competitions that require a small fee, our event itself is totally free. It’s a great way to have fun with your pet while still staying safe, so tune in to watch and tell ALL your animal-loving friends! 

It’s no secret that 2020 has thrown a curve ball for all of us. We are living during a time when events in particular are almost exclusively online. For local businesses that rely on events to promote their brands, many of these opportunities are few and far between.
